Healing HeARTs©, an expressive arts and animal intervention program that teaches social awareness, animal awareness, and self-awareness. Healing HeARTs provides ways to show how one can honor and help each other through expression, awareness, regard, and trust. The enrichment program integrates storytelling, drumming, singing, movement, and animal assisted interventions to learn about the experiences of rescue, rehabilitation, relationship building, bonding and ultimately healing of Sabastian the Lion and his many rescued friends.
Grounded in Positive Psychology, Interpersonal Neurobiology Perspective, Social Cognitive Theory, Life Mission Theory, the Network Episodic Model, Play Therapy, and Animal Assisted Play Therapy ™, Healing HeARTs program promotes quality of life through community, connection, and expression. The expressive arts program breathes life into folkloric heritage through intricately woven songs, storytelling, movement, rhythm, art, and animal assisted interventions that connect the art of wellbeing to resiliency through relationship building, self-awareness, self-expression, and establishing partnership through human-animal welfare to form a community.
